Dr. Desai graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2019. Her journey through vet school has taken her to all corners. of the globe, including Africa and Southeast Asia. Since graduation, she has worked in small animal general practice in northern New Jersey, where she grew up.
After seeing patients at all stages of their lives, and treating a variety of conditions, she began to notice the critical importance of dental health, regardless of age. Her desire to educate and address this silent disease has grown over the years, and she is excited to continue this mission with the Pearly Bites team.
The most rewarding aspect of veterinary dentistry for Dr. Desai is seeing the significant improvement in quality of life for pets that are suffering from dental disease, whether chronic or acute. While their eating habits and play behaviors improve, the human-animal bond also grows stronger when pets are faced with less pain. She hopes to enable pet owners to feel empowered with managing their pet's oral health.
Dr. Stephanie Livermore graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2008 and began her career caring for companion animals in both Canada and Florida. Over the years, she developed a strong interest in veterinary dentistry, inspired by the profound impact oral health has on a pet’s comfort, overall health, and quality of life.
With extensive experience and advanced training in dentistry, anesthesia, and pain management, Dr. Livermore is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through early diagnosis, thoughtful treatment planning, and high-quality dental care. After more than a decade practicing in St. Petersburg, Florida, she relocated to New York City to help launch Pearly Bites, where she has been an integral part of the team since its inception. In her role, she is committed to elevating the standard of dental care by promoting best practices, advancing clinical protocols, and emphasizing the importance of preventive oral health.
Her favorite part of the job? Seeing a pet bounce back with newfound comfort and energy after dental disease is treated.
At home, she shares her life with two miniature dachshunds, Edwyn and Judy Garland; two cats, Callie and Sassafras; and a pineapple conure named Vincent, along with her husband - a lively crew that keeps her on her toes.
